Welcome to Pacific Otolaryngology!
Pacific Otolaryngology is an Ear, Nose and Throat medical and surgical practice located in Tacoma, WA. We treat children and adults, offering all aspects of care for diseases of the ear, nose, throat and head and neck. Pacific Otolaryngology is the surgical practice of Nicholas J Hamill, MD, a board certified ENT specialist, Setsuko Murakami, AuD, a Doctor of Audiology, and a courteous staff of four employees.
We are proud to remain an independent practice that is not employed by a hospital system. By remaining independent, we believe we offer our patients more options for cost effective care. We fully recognize that our survival in the current health care climate demands that we continually earn the faith and trust of our patients and referring physicians. We strive to treat all patients as we would our family members, beginning with your initial phone contact and maintained throughout your care.
Pacific Otolaryngology offers medical and surgical treatment for virtually all disorders of the ear, nose, throat and head and neck. Surgery is reserved for patients only after all appropriate medical options have been tried and discussed. Many small procedures can be performed in the office setting, reducing the facility fees patients would encounter in a hospital environment. We recognize that your time is as important as ours and we strive to run an efficient office. We fully respect that matters of health often weigh heavily upon patients’ minds. Every effort is made to quickly provide biopsy and test results without making patients anxiously await their next scheduled appointment.
Pacific Otolaryngology offers full hearing related testing and provides in office resources such as hearing aids, swim plugs, musicians molds and accessories. By virtue of the fact that our audiology services are combined with an ENT physician practice, we are not dependent upon hearing aid sales to cover overhead. You will never see or hear an advertisement for hearing aids from Pacific Otolaryngology in your newspaper, mailbox or radio. This allows significant cost reductions for quality name brand hearing aids that are passed on to patients, often saving hundreds of dollars. Having an audiologist and otolaryngologist under the same roof also allows one stop delivery of care. Simple problems such as wax or minor ear infections that would normally require shuttling between the hearing aid dealer and physician’s office are avoided.
We are pleased to provide this website as a resource for general information regarding services provided by Pacific Otolaryngology. We hope the information provided on subsequent pages will eliminate some of the confusion and distortion often encountered in the health care and hearing aid market.
