Pacific Otolaryngology Retirement Update!
Pacific Otolaryngology has been the surgical practice of Nicholas J Hamill, MD, a board certified ENT specialist, Setsuko Murakami, AuD, a Doctor of Audiology, and a courteous staff of four employees. After 26 years of private practice in Tacoma, Dr Hamill has retired to close out 2024. The office is currently closed.
Medicine has changed drastically in our community over time with most physicians now working in an employed environment. I have excellent colleagues working locally for MultiCare or CHI Franciscan/Virgina Mason health systems and a Pro-Alliance group, ENT & Allergy Associates, in Puyallup. I have done my best to route patients to specific physicians or locations that I felt would best serve their needs prior to closing my practice. All of the above can be reached to provide excellent care for future ENT needs.
For those patients with hearing aids from our office, Setsuko Murakami, AuD will continue with an independent Audiology practice. Her business, OASIS AUDIOLOGY will be located at 4733 Tacoma Mall Blvd, #200, Tacoma, WA 98409. Phone (253) 262-6631 and Fax (253) 627-7575. Your patience during this period of transition is greatly appreciated. Her office should be up and running in early January and fully functional in February 2025.
I have always taken pride in creating medical records that are easily interpreted by patients and future caring physicians. Medical records are electronic these days and my office and operative notes are available through Epic, which is shared by the above mentioned practices and hospital facilities as well as available through My Chart for those participating. I rented Epic from the MultiCare Health System, and records can also be requested through their Health Information Management department (855) 673-2673.
Prescription refills normally provided by my office can be directed to your primary care provider. There are no prescriptions coming from my practice that should raise any red flags or treatment concerns from your primary care physician.
It has been an honor and a pleasure caring for our community over the years and I will miss the many friendships developed over the decades. I am retiring on my own terms in good health and looking forward to starting a new chapter in life.
